InsideLacrosse.com: Wayer, Gibbs, DeCraene Stand Out in UPLAX 2018 Summer Shooutout

See the 15 lacrosse players who made the biggest impression at the UPLAX Summer 2018 event!

Last Thursday, the 2019 and 2020 divisions of the UPLAX Summer Shootout got underway at South River High School in Edgewater, Md. I watched halves of eight games and came away most impressed by these 15 players.

Ben Wayer, LSM/D, 2020, St. Stephens & St. Agnes School (Va.), Blackwolf — Ohio State | 85
Big, really good off-ball in hedging and turning back dodgers while guarding the adjacent man. He’s good on the face-off wing, picking up groundballs and in transition. Very, very comfortable with the ball in his stick.

Finn Gibbs, A, 2020, Easton (Md.), MD Rough Riders | 79
A smooth quarterback of the offense. Good at turning the corner when he gets above GLE. Has a good hesitation move. Has good size.

Jack DeCraene, D, 2020, Walter Johnson (Md.), DC Express | 78
He’s tall, athletic and presses out — which is what scouts want to see in this environment; he wasn’t passive on the guy he was guarding.
