John Tillman: Head Coach — Harvard University

A 1991 graduate of Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration, Tillman played for the legendary coach Richie Moran and was a member of the school's 1989 team that advanced to the NCAA Championship Tournament. He began his playing career as a goalie but eventually played every position except attach before the end of his career in which he was a three-year member of the Dean's List.

Following graduation, Tillman spent four years as an assistant coach at Ithaca College while pursuing his Master of Science degree in physical education.

Before Harvard, Tillman spent 12 years at the United States Naval Academy where he served as Assistant Coach as well as Head Assistant Coach from 1996-2007. During his tenure in Annapolis, the Midshipmen were on of just five programs nationally to appear in every NCAA tournament from 2004 to 2007 with Cornell, Johns Hopkins, Maryland and Georgetown being the others.

Lastly, Tillman has helped develop All-Americans at each phase of his coaching stops with 41 selections in all including seven during the 2004 season. His efforts in recruiting and game management were noticed by the Maryland State Lacrosse Coaches Association who named Tillman the 2004 and 2006 collegiate Lacrosse Assistant coach of the year.

Charley Toomey: Head Coach — Loyola College in Maryland

Starting his coaching career at his alma mater, Toomey served as an assistant coach during the 1991 and 1992 seasons. With his help, the Greyhounds advanced to the NCAA tournament both seasons and Toomey moved on to the Naval Academy Prep School, where he served as the head coach during the 1993 and 1994 seasons.

Toomey stayed in Annapolis with his next stop, moving over to the college ranks as an assistant at the U.S. Naval Academy from 1994 to 1996. At Navy, he worked with the goalies and defensive midfielders. He then accepted the head coaching position at Severn School in 1996 and coached there for three successful seasons.

A return to Loyola College in 1998 proved prosperous for the Greyhounds. With a focus on the defensive unit and goalies, Loyola has continued to improve its defense and has been able to recruit some of the best young talent in the country. As head coach, Toomey's defensive unit held opponents to just over eight goals per game last season, holding teams to six or fewer goals five times. His contributions to the unit and to the program, along with his coaching style and work ethic, earned him recognition in Lacrosse Magazine, which featured him as one of the nation's top assistants in 2005.
